Students everyday struggle with different problems but bullying is a common one of them. They are thought that they could turn to the adults if there is any problem at school. However, students always asks themselves this question "will the adults actually listen?" Students always fear the fact that they would not get attention and support unless they do something to get everyone's attention. People want others to feel their pain by usually showing it in a negative way.
So, what should schools do? Students stay here for at least 6 hours everyday. They should feel safe and supported in this building all the time. Schools should be students second home and the staff should be their temporary parents. Avoiding violence in school is really easy if every staff is committed to helping and supporting a student.Without commitment or motivation at all, you lose a child to bullying. This is why we have guidance counsellors. They are meant for counselling your problems and issues. Students should go here if they have something serious they want to talk about on their mind.
Schools should hold presentations for students about bullying and their causes and effects. They should get students engaged about the idea by presenting different activities that explains bullying. This could be mini games or even a journal writing experience. Doing this can get students thinking about bullying. We need to not just engage adults about the problem of bullying but also the students. It's all about the teamwork and cooperation between one another.
